OverviewTemporary Counselor- Seniors role at Progress Foundation.ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Program Director or the Assistant Director, provide support and assistance to clients of an adult psychiatric acute residential treatment program. Advocate for and respond to clients' treatment and rehabilitation needs.Perform intake interviews; provide group, individual, and family counseling.Develop and implement treatment plans; coordinate activities; discharge planning.Develop and maintain contact with clients' therapists and related treatment programs.Maintain clinical records and perform minor household repair and cleaning tasks as needed.Maintain a flexible schedule, including some weekend and overnight shifts.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for the degree requirement depending on nature and length of experience. Specific experience in residential treatment and/or knowledge of social rehabilitation is preferred.At least one year's experience in a community mental health program is preferred.Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic word processing skills; familiarity with computer requirements of the City and County of San Francisco Community Behavioral Health Services.Maturity, good judgment, and emotional stability.
