Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.The OpportunityUndertake 3D modelling, analytical research and calculations, design work, measurement of noise and vibrationAssist with preparation of reports, drawings, sketches, modelsVisit project sites for inspections, measurements, commissioning, and testingDevelop, document, and present concepts and designs using 2D and 3D drawing toolsInterpret and apply codes and standardsReview engineering and architectural drawingsParticipate in meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions with clients and design teamsDevelop solutions to design issues using listening, critical thinking, application of knowledge, and visual demonstrations to clientsQualificationsRequired:A bachelor’s or master’s degree in acoustics or electro acoustics OR a degree in science, architecture, engineering, music with demonstrated coursework in acoustics or related fieldProfessional demeanorSkills in planning, prioritization, and organizationAbility to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible wayAttitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learnHistory of technical presentations and technical writingProven ability to perform in a deadline environmentExceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based workingCandidate must submit a cover letterCandidate must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this rolePreferred:Master’s Degree in Acoustics or closely related fieldEvidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the fieldA background/training in music practice, playing of a musical instrument can be usefulEvidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular fieldAdditional computing skills: Max/MSP, Unity Game Engine, Python, TouchDesigner, Matlab, ProTools, Audition, Excel, Visual Basic, AutoCAD, 3D modeling skills (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.)What we offerAt Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together.
