Join to apply for the Assistant General Counsel, Corporate & Commercial (Projects) (Hybrid) role at Exelon.Primary PurposeA qualified attorney with experience in large projects, including project management, engineering, procurement and construction support.Primary Duties1 Provides representation and counsel, both internal and external, regarding complex commercial legal assignments related to regulated electric and gas projects to negotiate complex construction projects for transmission and distribution assets, including contracting on an EPC (traditional and progressive) /GMP model. Under minimal supervision, plans, conducts and supervises complex legal assignments, requiring an ability to evaluate matters that may have a major bearing on the Company’s business; evaluates legal and business risks and liability of strategic initiatives and advises clients accordingly. Review and draft legal documents and work closely and cooperatively with necessary internal legal (and at times, outside counsel) and other business departments to ensure timely and compliant project completion. Advise internal clients during all phases of project contracting. Interprets and applies internal policies consistent with the law.2 Prepares budgets and oversight of outside counsel management3 Provides project leadership direction to other department attorneys and support staff4 Projects / duties as assigned.Job ScopeSupports leadership and colleagues in the ongoing management of relationships and matters on behalf of the Company, including with internal clients, outside counsel, and external stakeholders.Demonstrates superior legal judgment in the business context.Demonstrates innovation; generates new ideas and devises original and successful solutions, programs or actions.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsAn LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions. At least 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in construction contracting including EPC/GMP models. Requires excellent analytical abilities. Must have the ability to communicate clearly - both orally and in writing, formally and informally; to read and analyze legal and legislative materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines.
