Resident taps rising star chefs from the world’s best restaurants to host intimate, chef’s table style dinners in spectacular spaces. We take over townhouses, penthouses, and other luxury spaces to host ticketed dinners, personal celebrations, team-building and client entertaining events, and wholly-owned brand experiences. Each chef’s event is a reflection of the chef’s background, passions and memories. We offer guests the unique opportunity to connect with the faces behind their food. We are looking for Sous Chefs to join our roster of freelance culinary talent. As a sous with Resident, you will help our chefs execute tasting menus for our guests. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: prep day and event day mise en place, a la minute cooking during service, kitchen cleaning and organization, dishwashing, and expediting. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of all food and produce high quality plates up to the Chef’s standard. Take direction from the event's Head Chef, completing all assigned tasks Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards. Resourcefully help the event's head chef to solve any unforeseen issues that arise. Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests. Maintain a hygienic and safe working environment at all times. Ensure that equipment is maintained to a high standard of operation and cleanliness. Qualifications 2+ years experience being a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie at a fine dining establishment Excellent communication skills Flexible and Punctual Attention to detail Strong work ethic Experience with a variety of cooking styles and techniques Ideal for those transitioning to freelance chef work Ability to stand for 8+ hours. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Occasional, kneeling, pulling, pushing Compensation: $250/event.
