Electrical Outside Sales Representative

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Sales Rep with a strong background in lighting and gear. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project estimates for lighting fixtures, gear packages, and related electrical components. The ideal candidate understands the importance of deadlines, precision, and collaboration with internal teams and customers. Key Responsibilities Review project specifications, drawings, and RFQs to determine lighting and gear requirements Perform take-offs and prepare detailed estimates and proposals for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects Work closely with manufacturers and reps to source pricing, availability, and value-engineered options Collaborate with the sales, purchasing, and project management teams to ensure seamless project handoff Identify and evaluate bid opportunities; ensure timely submission of accurate and complete bids Maintain knowledge of current market trends, pricing, and product updates Communicate with customers, contractors, and design teams to clarify scope and ensure alignment Update and manage estimate records, including notes, revisions, and pricing histories Qualifications 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating with a focus on lighting and/or gear Strong understanding of lighting fixtures, switchgear systems, and electrical distribution products Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents, plans, and specifications Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors and clients Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required) Knowledge of product lines from major manufacturers (e.g., Lithonia, Eaton, Square D, etc.) High school diploma required; associate or bachelors degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred Why Join Us?
