Land Use / Environmental Attorney – Remote (Sacramento, CA) Who We Are We’re a public-sector focused firm advising cities, counties, and special districts on every angle of land use and environmental law—CEQA, NEPA, zoning, planning, and natural-resources issues. Our work shapes how California grows. The Role We’re looking for an attorney who can guide public agencies through complex land use and environmental matters. You’ll counsel on compliance, draft and defend ordinances, and represent agencies in administrative proceedings and litigation. The position is remote with occasional in-person meetings or hearings in the Sacramento area. Key Responsibilities Advise public agencies on CEQA/NEPA, planning, zoning, and related regulations Draft ordinances, resolutions, development agreements, and environmental review documents Represent agencies in administrative hearings and state/federal court Collaborate with agency staff, planners, and consultants on high-profile projects Requirements J.D. and active California Bar membership 3–7 years of land use and/or environmental law experience, ideally with public-agency clients Solid understanding of CEQA/NEPA and California planning statutes Strong writing and oral advocacy skills Comfortable working independently in a fully remote setup Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $145,000 – $220,000 annually . Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
