Construction Estimator (Mountain View)

Purpose of the RoleAs Senior Preconstruction Estimator (T1), your primary objective is to ensure client satisfaction by understanding and communicating the clients vision and project objectives, managing preconstruction processes, and helping the team achieve BCCI goals in quality, service, and financial performance. You will guide the team through developing cost estimates, defining project scope, managing contractual documentation, advising on constructability, and collaborating across disciplines to meet or exceed forecasted profit goals.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preconstruction process from conceptual budgeting through final subcontractor and vendor agreementsReview RFPs, participate in client interviews, and prepare responsesAnalyze drawings, specifications, reports, and regulations to develop comprehensive scopes of workConduct site surveys and coordinate with engineering/testing agencies to confirm site conditions and advise on best approachesOversee and/or prepare detailed estimates, conceptual budgets, and proposals, including subcontractor bid analysisEnsure estimates and budgets are accurate, complete, and reflective of project requirementsCoordinate assembly and presentation of preconstruction materials to clientsCompare competitive bids and review estimates with Project Managers and SuperintendentsPerform post-bid buyouts, prepare preliminary schedules, and assist in contract preparationOrganize and lead transition meetings between preconstruction and operations teams to ensure clarity and alignmentServe as Owner/Client relationship manager for assigned projects as neededMaintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and vendorsStay current on construction trends, methods, costs, wage rates, and regulationsRecommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivityRepresent BCCI professionally in all interactions and maintain accountability for project knowledge, communication, and deadlinesQualifications & ExperienceBachelors degree or higher in Construction, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent transferable experience)Minimum 10 years of preconstruction experience and 10 years in constructionStrong conceptual estimating experience on mid- to large-scale commercial projects highly preferredProficiency in estimating software (Timberline Estimating preferred), MS Office, MS Project, Adobe/Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, and ProcoreKnowledge of scheduling, budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and contract administrationStrong analytical, negotiation, leadership, and communication skillsProven success managing preconstruction processes for complex projectsNote: We value relevant and transferable skills from work history, volunteer roles, or other applicable experienceformal degrees are not the only path to success in this role.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings & Flexible Spending Accounts401(k) with company matchLife, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insuranceCritical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity insurancePaid time off, 10 paid holidays, and employee stock purchase programEmployee Assistance Program, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and moreEEO Statement:BCCI is an equal opportunity employer.
