Associate Curator of Maximus Gallery

The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History seeks a full-time Associate Curator to support the curation, exhibition, and stewardship of the John and Peggy Maximus Gallery collection—over 4,000 antique natural history engravings and lithographs dating from the 17th–19th centuries. This role assists in planning and installing up to three annual exhibitions, conducting scholarly research, and ensuring best practices in collections care. The Associate Curator engages the public through interpretation, tours, and written materials while cultivating relationships with collectors, donors, and scholars. This position is designed as a mentorship under the current Curator until their retirement. The collection and exhibitions are dedicated exclusively to antique natural history works on paper, not contemporary art.Pay range: $68,640–$70,350 annually, full-time exempt with benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
