Job Description

OverviewGeneral Manager I role at Kenco Group within the distribution center. Leads the warehouse operation in alignment with Kenco’s Guiding Principles and the Kenco Operating System (KOS / Shingo) to optimize efficiency and profitability.ResponsibilitiesLead activities of site management and personnel to ensure compliance with operating system, corporate policy, site SOPs, personnel policies, and workload leveling.Maintain all safety, operations, quality, financial, legal and regulatory functions on site.Develop long-term planning and strategic initiatives for the site to ensure continued success and a strong relationship with the customer.Be responsible for site metrics, KPIs, Business Improvement Plans, Efficiency Programs, and P&L indices; analyze data to develop reports for interpretation and communication to the customer and site personnel.Ensure effective communication and feedback for site and customer relations, including management reviews.Provide coaching and mentoring to site management and personnel to sustain the business and facility.Support a healthy and effective lean culture by participating in and leading 5S, Gemba walks, A3s, Kaizen events, Employee Suggestion Boards, and related activities to promote continuous improvement.Continuously analyze operations to improve cross-functional warehouse efficiencies, throughput, capacity planning, flow, and financial information.Build strong customer relationships and translate customer strategic goals into site-specific objectives.QualificationsBachelor degree in Logistics or Business or related field is required.Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience within a distribution center and/or warehouse or related field is required.Experience leading a team of salaried and hourly associates with strong people management, conflict resolution, coaching, development, teamwork, and performance management skills.Experience with labor/workforce management systems (e.g., SAP, Red Prairie, HighJump) is highly desired.Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is preferred but not required.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines; work effectively under stress in a multi-tasking environment.Proficiency in computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).CompetenciesBusiness AcumenCommunicate for ImpactLeading PeopleManaging Transitions / Change ManagementRelationship ManagementStrategic AgilityTravel RequirementsExpected travel approximately 25% or less.DisclosuresFor California residents – review a notice regarding Kenco’s privacy policy: is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
