General Manager

OverviewThe General Manager will serve as the strategic and operational leader of the resort, overseeing all aspects of guest service, operations, financial performance, and team development. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven ability to balance operational discipline with personalized luxury guest experiences. The General Manager will work closely with ownership and brand leadership to ensure the resort consistently delivers best-in-class service while driving revenue, profitability, and long-term asset value.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership across all departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Recreation, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering.Drive a culture of personalized guest service, attention to detail, and Forbes Five-Star standards, ensuring every touchpoint enhances the resort’s reputation.Develop and execute business strategies to maximize RevPAR, F&B revenues, and overall profitability while aligning with ownership’s financial goals.Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development programs to attract and retain top talent.Ensure compliance with safety, brand, and service standards, as well as local and state regulations.Partner with sales and marketing to drive group, leisure, and destination business, while positioning the resort as a leader in the San Diego luxury market.Manage capital projects, renovations, and property enhancements to preserve and elevate the resort’s physical asset and luxury positioning.Act as brand ambassador in the community, developing strong relationships with local partners, key accounts, and stakeholders.QualificationsMinimum 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hotels or resorts, with at least 5 years as a General Manager or Resort Manager.Proven track record of leading Forbes Five-Star or AAA Five Diamond properties strongly preferred.Strong background in Rooms Division and Food & Beverage, with an ability to balance operational excellence and guest service at the highest level.Exceptional financial acumen with experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and driving profitability.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire teams and create a culture of excellence.Experience in competitive luxury markets, preferably in Southern California, coastal destinations, or similar resort environments.Why JoinThis is a unique opportunity to lead one of San Diego’s most iconic luxury resorts, guiding its team to deliver world-class service and memorable guest experiences.
