OverviewDynamic NYC Organization Seeks General Manager for New Heights Youth, Inc. (and related roles: Assistant Men''s Basketball Coach at William Paterson University & Adjunct…). The General Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and provide operational support for all areas of the New Heights facility, basketball and the Ambassadors Program. This position is based out of our office in Brooklyn, NY and is full-time but requires flexible hours including some evenings and weekends based on program scheduling. The first 90 days will be five days per week in the office, and then shift to a hybrid model, with a minimum of four days per week in the office.New Heights was founded in October 2005 as an independent non-profit organization in New York City. Our mission is to educate and empower promising underserved youth to be leaders, champions and student-athletes by developing the skills necessary for success in high school, college and life. We are located at the Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Community Center in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Our facility includes three basketball courts, three classrooms, offices, tutoring rooms, and meeting spaces. New Heights provides intensive, long-term support for promising young athletes from underserved communities to develop the academic skills, leadership abilities and character traits necessary to succeed beyond sports.The organization will be expanding its services via College Bound and Community programs that include travel basketball teams, academic support, tutoring, counseling and workshops, college preparation and placement, the New Heights Summer Academy, and community clinics, leagues, camps, workshops and events.Primary ResponsibilitiesTeam Operations & Travel (15 hours per week): Assist in practice, league and tournament scheduling; assist in communications to NHY student-athletes and their families; coordinate and manage all aspects of program and team travel; assist with equipment ordering and distribution; assist with onboarding new coaches and part-time staff; assist with securing photographers and videographers for events.Facility Management (10 hours per week): Oversee maintenance on facility equipment; ensure facility is clean and presentable; maintain communication with COO, Office Manager, property management, external user groups, and the general public as needed; support facility rentals and reservations; monitor policy compliance; recruit, hire, and supervise part-time, seasonal, and event staff; coordinate donor opportunities in consultation with COO; support NIL-related initiatives and onboarding related to ambassadors; assist with educational workshops and trainings; maintain ambassador engagement records and compliance documentation; coordinate media content collection with Communications Manager; provide admin support for the Ambassadors Program with Development, Communications, and Programming teams.Qualifications/RequirementsPassion for the New Heights missionBachelor’s degree (master’s degree a plus) in sports administration, sports management, general management or related fieldExperience in intercollegiate team sport operations and/or facility management is a plusStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office and G Suite)Excellent organizational and time management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsGreat customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; manage multiple projectsEnthusiasm to engage with diverse audiencesSalary and BenefitsSalary range: $70,000 to $80,000 annually (depends on experience and qualifications)Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision; 401k with employer contribution; 15 days PTO & 15 paid holidays, plus an organization-wide summer week offHow to ApplyPlease send a cover letter and resume to with the subject line: General Manager.
