OverviewThe Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we provide financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives. The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist the Store Manager with managing store operations and supervising store personnel.Base pay range$18.00/hr - $20.00/hrDuties And ResponsibilitiesAssist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.Be well-versed in and ensure compliance to accounting, employee, and store policies.Assist the manager in meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals, maintaining a profitable operation.Ensure that all production is taken from the back room and properly displayed on the sales floor.Receive applications and participate in interviewing applicants as needed.Assist in training, direction, and supervision of new personnel along with retraining for all personnel, as necessary.Assist in conducting regular evaluations of store personnel, identifying performance strengths and areas for development.Assist in scheduling of sales associates (and unpaid staff) to ensure full coverage in store at all times. In the absence of the manager, post weekly work schedules for all store personnel. Schedule must include assignment, breaks, vacation, etc.Assist in completion of payroll information biweekly for all store personnel noting signatures, absenteeism, overtime, etc. Submit to finance department as the absence of the manager, responsible for ordering merchandise to ensure the store is well stocked and that merchandise is properly presented.Responsible for proper accounting and banking of cash receipts according to policy.Ensure that all paperwork and sales reports are filled out completely and forwarded to the finance department the absence of the manager, attend manager meetings and keep store personnel informed of new policies and directives.Ensure safety measures are consistent with policy and government regulations; hold staff accountable for compliance. Report hazards, property damage and injuries as required.May be asked to fill in at other store locations.This position supports the work therapy program by modeling professional conduct and work habits.Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Experience in sales.Supervisory experience preferred.Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.Good verbal and written communication.Ability to motivate a team.About The Salvation ArmyFor more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has operated rehabilitation facilities across the country that provide help and hope to individuals with a variety of problems, including issues relating to substance abuse.
