The Software Architect is responsible for analyzing overarching needs by using a structured and logical approach, and developing System Architecture solutions and concepts for various new and emerging capabilities, in collaboration with other architects, including the lead Systems Architect, hardware architects, cyber architects, and others internal, customer, and supplier stakeholders.This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA.This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.Basic Qualifications For Senior Principal IPT SW ArchitectBachelor/'s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience with Bachelor/'s degree, 6 years of experience with Master/'s degree, 4 years of experience with PhDDemonstrated experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle and successfully supporting major reviewsDemonstrated experience working with architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface managementDemonstrated experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML/MBSE)Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes, specifically system architectureStrong understanding of software design principles, computer architecture, and relevant technologiesExcellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skillsThis position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizenCurrent active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w. Polygraph prior to start.Preferred Qualifications For Senior Principal IPT SW ArchitectCurrent active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearanceExperience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required.Understanding of system and interface definitions through the creation of Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs) and Internal Block Definition Diagrams (IBDs)Knowledge of software design principles and patternsUnderstanding of interaction between different software and hardware components and subsystemsExperience And Familiarity With Some Combination OfInfrastructure tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Cypress, Doxygen, Jupyter Notebooks, Visual Studio, Python, node.jsApplication Management tools: GitLab, Nexus, Prometheus, Trivy, SonarQubeData and Visualization tools: SharePoint, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, MongoDB, Tableau, GrafanaExperience with, hardware/software integration, test planning & execution, or operational supportFamiliarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or ConfluenceFamiliarity with data visualization tools: TableauProficiency in working with real-time embedded softwareSalary: Primary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate/'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
