Physical Therapist, Waltham/Lexington

Position Summary/Department Summary:We are currently seeking a 40-hour Physical Therapist for a 50/50 split position between our Waltham and Lexington locations (Free parking!). Be a part of our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality, rehabilitation for our pediatric patients. Our PTs help patients — from newborns to young adults — gain movement, strength, coordination, balance, and function.Key Responsibilities:Completing comprehensive physical therapy assessment in alignment with department standards and guidelines for pediatric patients.Reviewing patient medical history/record and selects, administers, and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients’ functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor tegrating knowledge into clinical decisions and recommendationsDeveloping and implementing individualized patient treatment programs.Establishing treatment goals and administers appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalitiesDischarge plans and home treatment programs, and providing education to patients and familiesRecommending orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions.Liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs.Training patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and initiating modifications as needed.Recording assessments, diagnoses, and treatment inpatient medical records according to established documentation standards.Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed.Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in physical therapyExperience:Minimum of one to two years of previous PT experience ideal, pediatric hospital-based experience preferred.Licensure/Certifications:Physical Therapist licensure in the state of MASchedule is M-FNew Hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus!Boston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, childcare and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
