Mechanical Drafter

Job Title: Drafter Location: Shelton, CT Job Type: Permanent We are a multidisciplinary engineering firm specializing in site development, grading, drainage, and utility design for residential, commercial, and municipal projects. We're seeking a skilled Civil Drafter who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take on greater responsibility within a dynamic team. Responsibilities * Convert redlines, sketches, and verbal instructions into accurate AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawings * Draft site plans, grading layouts, utility profiles, and erosion control plans * Attend site visits and assist in scope execution and documentation * Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and quantity take-offs * Support cost estimation and budgeting efforts to keep projects on track * Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and compliance Required Skills * 5+ years of civil drafting or design experience * Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D * Strong understanding of layer management, sheet setup, and dynamic blocks * Experience with grading, drainage, and utility layout drafting * Familiarity with local and state CAD standards and permitting requirements * Excellent communication and team collaboration skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Preferred Qualifications * Civil 3D certification or formal training * Experience with land development, municipal infrastructure, and stormwater management * Familiarity with GIS data integration and survey coordination Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
