Shipping Associate

JOB TITLE: SHIPPING ATTENDANT  Pay Rate :         $20 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Power driven lift trucks, hand trucks, company pick up trucks, hand tools, electric drills, portable and table type circular saw, air powered nailer and stapler, overhead cranes and chain hoist, power driven high lift, banding tools, straps and chains. MATERIAL: Crating lumber, nails, staples, masking tapes, steel strapping and banding, rust-proofing preservatives, wax paper, corrugated items, packing lists and freight bills. JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Loads and unloads trucks, packages small items. Designs and builds boxing, crating, skidding needed for outgoing jobs. Ensures that products are properly packaged to reduce shipping damage and rust or corrosion. Identifies and verifies quantities of all items required for customer order packing list. Notifies supervisor of missing equipment or concerns with proper packaging. Makes local pick up and deliveries. Perform inventory counts of packaging materials and notifies Purchasing for replenishment. Maintains general organization and cleanliness of area, scrap and scrap yard.
