Job Title: Field Engineer Job Description The Field Engineer will play a crucial role at natural gas compressor station projects, ensuring the maintenance and promotion of a strong safety culture while contributing to the successful management of industrial plants. These facilities are essential for maintaining the pressure of natural gas as it travels through pipelines and involve disciplines such as civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, along with extensive piping work. Responsibilities * Maintain and promote a strong safety culture on site. * Assist the Project Manager in managing smaller projects. * Understand the terms, conditions, and scope of contracts. * Track materials, production, and project costs for Project Manager review and approval. * Facilitate subcontractor activities. * Maintain the project schedule. * Perform basic estimating, take-offs, and solicitation of quotes. * Provide on-site administrative support. * Assist with quality assurance, quality control, and test protocols. Essential Skills * 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or in a similar role involved in the constructability of Heavy Industrial or Power Plant projects. * Experience working for the Owner, EPC, or GC on these projects. * Experience overseeing subcontractors in disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Process Piping. * Strong communication skills. * Ability to read prints and use project management software. * Willingness to be away from home on a project site for weeks at a time, with rotations home every 4-6 weeks. * Openness to working nights and weekends as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience in construction management, industrial, mechanical, electrical, power plant, and project engineering. * Familiarity with MEP, gas, and turbine systems. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and involves being on-site at power plant projects primarily in Ohio, with potential travel to other locations across the country, especially in the Midwest. The team operates on a 6-day workweek, with 10-hour days being typical. The project is on a multi-year timeline involving a lot of civil/underground work, generator installation, and pipeline construction. A truck allowance, cell phone allowance, and equipment such as laptops are provided. Additionally, there is a structured training program with opportunities for career advancement, including potential progression into a Project Manager role after five years. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $67.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
