Hiring a Phlebotomist in Manhattan!! Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist with over 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient with straight needles, reliable, punctual, and possess strong communication and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information. + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature. + Place samples in the appropriate collection container/tube, accurately label them, and follow different procedures as outlined by protocol to maintain specimen integrity for transport. Essential Skills + 2+ years of recent phlebotomy experience + Proficient with straight needles + Reliable and punctual + Strong communication skills + Excellent customer service skills + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Additional Skills & Qualifications + Minimum 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting + Bilingual in Spanish Work Environment The position is based in a new Patient Service Center (PSC) in Chelsea, which is currently in the process of opening. The worksite will accommodate two staff members, with an expected daily patient load of 30-50, potentially up to 60. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with work required every other Saturday from 8am-3pm. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
