Transporter

Job Description Transports patients to and from various units as directed, safely and comfortably. Picks up and delivers materials and/or equipment as needed. Job Responsibility * * Transports patients in wheel chairs or on stretchers to and from various units as directed. * Responds to page promptly. * Uses proper body mechanics during transfer and transport. * Transports patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, as directed. * Notifies staff upon arrival of patients. * Reports any changes of patient's condition during transport to charge nurse. * Ensures proper height is kept on I.V set-up when transporting patient. * * Promotes and maintains cleanliness and effective functioning of transport equipment. * Reports defective wheelchairs and stretchers to Supervisor. * Cleans transportation equipment. * * Picks up and delivers materials as directed within the Hospital promptly and accurately. * Performs related duties as required. * ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical setting, preferred. Good communication skills-fluent in English. Physical demand are constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, turning, lifting; Frequent stretching, pulling, pushing; Occasional sitting. * Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
