Dishwasher

Lapis, a modern Afghan bistro in the heart of Washington, DC, is part of The Popal Group’s family of boutique restaurants known for warm hospitality and thoughtful dining experiences. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our back-of-house team. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, efficient, and organized kitchen that supports our chefs and front-of-house staff in delivering outstanding guest experiences. Responsibilities: Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas at all times. Assist with trash removal, recycling, and proper disposal of waste. Sweep, mop, and maintain floors to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met. Restock kitchen areas with clean equipment and supplies as needed. Assist chefs and cooks with basic prep tasks when required. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service. Qualifications: Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen setting preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team-oriented with a positive attitude. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
