Competitive Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Job Title: CT Technologist with Sign On BonusAs a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. You will be responsible for operating the CT scanner, developing and implementing procedures for its effective utilization, and participating in technical duties directly involved with the scanner. Essential Functions: Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging by cleaning daily, noting any system problems, and alerting supervisor of such issues.Sets up and adjusts equipment dependent on the exam by setting up equipment, calibrating unit, setting control according to exam standard, and checking all dose limits needed for each exam.Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements by going to waiting room, dressing rooms, and corridors to accept patient, assessing patient needs, explaining procedure to patient, and answering questions patient may have about examination.Assists in administration and administers appropriate contrast agents in order to render specific organs or systems more opaque by performing IV access using sterile technique, marking I.V. supplies properly, and reviewing patient charts and requests with Radiologist to assure proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained. Responsibilities: Reviews patient charts and requests with Radiologist to assure proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations by checking all images to assure quality of exam, checking image transfers complete and correct, adhering to safety regulations for both patient and employee safety, and checking inventory of contrast, I.V. supplies, and paper products daily.Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts by reviewing exam request to determine area of interest, using practical knowledge of anatomy for proper positioning to obtain maximum diagnostic information, following set department protocols for imaging area of interest, and progressing in knowledge of new dept related technology and hospital wide technology. Requirements: Formal training in Radiology Technology of AMA approved program preferred;Minimum of three to four (3–4) years Radiologic experience and special procedures experience preferred;One (1) year exposure or training in CT to be proficient;Computed Tomography (CT) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required;Computed Tomography (MA) - Radiation Control Program (Massachusetts) license required;BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) within 180 days of hire required.
