Senior Project Engineer

OverviewThe OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Project Engineer for our Transportation-Construction Management Practice in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area.The Senior Project Engineer will help manage the field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office. The candidate will be working under the Project Manager on an Express Bridge Project in Houston. Responsibilities include investigation and review of field conflicts, reviewing and responding to RFI’s, developing traffic control plan revisions, reviewing and developing change orders, reviewing construction schedule submittals and client coordination. The Field Engineer will prepare and submit progress and final estimates, check engineering calculations, interpret contract documents, ensuring contractor compliance with plans, specifications and contract documents and assist in the organization and assignments of inspection staff members. Microstation and / or Bluebeam experience is desired.ResponsibilitiesManage the field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects and the internal operations of a satellite office.Work under the Project Manager on an Express Bridge Project in vestigate and review field conflicts; review and respond to RFIs; develop traffic control plan revisions; review and develop change orders; review construction schedule submittals; and coordinate with clients.Prepare and submit progress and final estimates, check engineering calculations, interpret contract documents, ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications and contract documents, and assist in the organization and assignments of inspection staff members.Microstation and/or Bluebeam experience is desired.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited universityA minimum of 10+ years’ experience with major road or bridge construction inspectionPE License requiredExperience reviewing and responding to RFIs and change ordersAbility to assist with and resolve field issues and ensure inspection qualityValid Driver License with a good driving recordAbility to obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time framesAbility to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods of timeAbility to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasksAbility to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protectionAbility to lift and / or move you to 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications10+ years’ experience working in Construction Field EngineeringExperience working on FDOT projectsPossess a can-do attitude, and willingness to take on challengesAbility to prioritize tasks and work independently with guidance from the PMExperience with Microstation, Bluebeam and / or P6 scheduling software #J-18808-Ljbffr
