Overview GeoComply is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the client platform's architecture of our geolocation compliance solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across our mobile (iOS and Android), Desktop, and JavaScript SDKs. You will collaborate with engineering managers, product managers, and senior engineers across all client platforms, providing technical leadership and contributing to our product strategy. Key Responsibilities Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and architecture of cross-platform client-side solutions, focusing on interactions between mobile, desktop, front-end SDKs, and the core geolocation engine. Define architectural patterns, interface specifications, and data flow strategies to ensure consistency, maintainability, and performance. Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with senior engineers on each platform to align with the architectural vision; promote best practices; facilitate communication across development teams; address cross-cutting challenges and dependencies. Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to senior engineers; participate in design and code reviews across client teams; ensure alignment with standards. Product Development and Innovation: Work with Product Managers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions; research new technologies to improve client-side architecture and development efficiency; contribute to shared libraries and tools. Quality and Delivery: Ensure client-side solutions meet high standards for quality, performance, security, and scalability; contribute to continuous improvement of agile processes. Customer Integration Design: Design clear, efficient integration flows for customers to adopt our SDKs and ensure a smooth developer experience. Who You Are Extensive Software Development Experience: 10+ years with a strong focus on client-side technologies. Strong Client-Side Expertise: Deep experience in mobile development (iOS or Android); desktop application development (C++); front-end web development (JavaScript, modern frameworks). Architectural Vision and Design: Proven ability to design and implement complex multi-platform architectures with scalability and maintainability in mind. Software Design Proficiency: Knowledge of design patterns and best practices for scalable client applications. Cross-Platform Expertise: Experience with cross-platform development approaches and considerations. API and Integration Expertise: Strong understanding of API design and integration principles for seamless customer experiences. Technical Leadership: Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical direction. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges. Quality Focus: Commitment to delivering high-quality, well-tested software. Bonus Points Experience with geolocation technologies and compliance solutions. Compensation and Benefits $192,000 - $264,000 a year Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several global markets. The salary ranges from $192,000/year to $264,000/year. Pay is based on factors evaluated throughout the interview process, including location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
