TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the time.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a DevOps Engineer / Principal DevOps Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program.What you get to doThe selected DevOps/Principal DevOps Engineer will provide support for the Sentinel program. The selected candidate will support the Software Infrastructure team to develop and deploy Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capability. In this role, the DevOps Engineer will architect system requirements and model the Physical and Logical architecture to facilitate design, collaborating with engineers across disciplines throughout development. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.Basic QualificationsEngineer DevOps: Bachelor’s in relevant field of study and 2 years of related experience; Master’s in relevant field of study and 0 years of related experience; Or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Principal Engineer DevOps: Bachelor’s in relevant field of study and 5 years of related experience; Master’s in relevant field of study and 3 years of related experience; PhD with one year of related experience or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Required for both levels:Certifications: Current Security+ or equivalent certification or greater or ability to obtain, within 6 months or less of hire, DoD 8570 / AFMAN 17-1303 qualification at IASAE 3 levelClearance: Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope and ability to obtain SAP access within reasonable amount of timeProficient in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) with expertise in SQL, database design, optimization, and data integrity through normalizationSkilled in non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)Experience with time-series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, TimescaleDB)Familiar with data service architectures and microservices that enable access to and integration of diverse data sources across applicationsExperience administering, integrating, and maintaining Data Services as part of the platform toolchainExperience configuring hardware, services, and managing settings and storageDeep knowledge of Windows and Linux administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning with proven automation/coding experienceExperience with hypervisors such as ESXi, Harvester, Hyper-V, etc.Preferred Qualifications• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and ability to obtain SAP access within a reasonable amount of timeCurrent CISSP or equivalent certification or greater; DoD 8570 / AFMAN 17-1303 qualification at IASAE 3 levelDeep knowledge of deploying secure applications using Kubernetes or other similar toolingSecurity hardening on diverse Linux and Windows OS based on DISA STIGs and SRGsFamiliarity with scripting Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs)Experience scripting, installing, and testing patches on system hostsExperience designing and implementing automation solutions using Ansible for auto-deploy and configuration managementExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with all levelsUnderstanding of SCRUM and AGILE methodologyExperience Cross Domain GuardsExperience with JIRA/Confluence/GitLabAuthentication and AuthorizationMicrosoft Domain Controller, Red Hat IdM, Keycloak, Multi-Factor AuthenticationContrast, JFrog XrayEnd Point Protection, McAfee (DISA HBSS), Carbon BlackAudit LogsVMware vRealize Operations (vROps), Splunk, ArcSightSTEM Degree#SentinelsoftwareSalarySalary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00Salary Range 2: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
