Salary StatementEstimated Starting Salary Range: USD $136,850.00/Yr. - USD $228,100.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.DescriptionThe Engineer in this role will be supporting Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) customers in the maintenance, functionality, and sustainment of Zero Trust Environments. This support will include, but is not limited to, working in a DevOps environment to support the research into existing software applications required for integration, the refactoring of existing software applications to enable functionality and access from a cloud-based architecture, and the development of new web-based applications and microservices as requested by the customer. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure critical software applications are capable of continuing to support success within a secure cloud-based architecture.Understanding user requirements and strategizing software solutionsSupporting development of applications and capabilities within Zero Trust Environments.Updating and refactoring existing/legacy software applications into web-based applications.Creating and optimizing in-application SQL statements and back-end access from other applicationEnsuring performance, security, and availability of databasesProfiling server resource usage and optimizing as necessaryParticipating in code reviews and contributing to architectural decisionsFILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING#LI-AM1RequirementsMust possess an active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible)Minimum of five+ (5+) years of software development experienceExtensive coding experience in the following:Programming Languages & Technologies to include:Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScriptHTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS)React.js, Angular, or Vue.js (with emphasis on React for UI modernization)Server-side languages: Node.js, Java, Python, PHP, or C#RESTful APIs and Web Services integrationDatabase Experience to include:SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server)Familiarity with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis) for migration contextsVersion Control & Collaboration Tools to include:Git, GitHub/GitLab/BitbucketJira or Azure DevOps for issue tracking and Agile processesLegacy System Integration to include:Experience migrating or modernizing legacy applicationsAbility to read, understand, and refactor existing legacy codebasesKnowledge of legacy technologies (e.g., older Java EE applications, ColdFusion, Classic ASP)DevOps & CI/CD to include:CI/CD practices using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps pipelinesContainerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)Cloud & Infrastructure to include:AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other FedRAMP-compliant cloud platformsHybrid cloud deployments, cloud migration strategiesUnderstanding of networking, virtualization, and storage conceptsMust currently hold a DoDM 8140.03 IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six monthsDesired SkillsBachelor/'s degree in relative technical fieldPrior experience working on ODENClearance InformationSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET / SCI ELIGIBILITYTravel Requirements15-20%(CONUS)About UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
