In this role, you'll take on the dynamic responsibility of being a Lead and a Programmer. You will be the driving force behind growing and maintaining effective teams, providing feedback, and nurturing the development of team members. You will also use your Unreal Engine expertise to not only harness its power, but to shape and push the technology further. Your role will include designing, implementing, and expanding existing features, ensuring that technology never limits our imagination.Daily ResponsibilitiesDevelop architectural proposals and guide the vision for diverse engine systems, ensuring they meet desired functionality and performance standards.Proposing tools or technologies that could enhance the ability to deliver great engine systems support.Owning and driving engine topics and subsequent decision-making.Proposing and implementing solutions to the challenges of performance and scale of a large open-world game.Mentoring team members on how to get the most out of Unreal Technology.Motivating and energizing the team members.Cultivating the team culture in line with the company’s values and goals.Cascading and escalating terviewing and hiring members of your team.Creating a game that delivers memorable experiences to players.Working across all disciplines to ensure that the engine technologies are meeting the needs of all stakeholders.Qualifications7 years experience as a programmer within the games industry and with at least 1 year of experience as a leadDeep proficiency in C++ coding, evidenced by a track record in commercial, open-source, or private projects.Thorough understanding of Unreal Engine.Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more engine related focus areas, including but not limited to: rendering, tools, physics, etc.Experience in working on various platforms.System architecture skills.Ability to debug and optimize code.Experience with multithreaded programming.Can think and work creatively while taking the initiative to solve problems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently.Drive towards professional growth.Nice to HaveExperience with RPG and/or open world games will be very welcome.Passion for gamesAdditional InformationThis job can be hybrid/in-office from Boston or fully pany paid medical healthcare (dental vision & mental).Paid Leave — 20 days of holiday for every team member per year (26 days after two years).No dress-code — we like to keep it casual.401K with employer matching.Trainings, lectures and courses — internal workshops, knowledge-sharing initiatives, online tutorials, and e-learning classes are all available.
