Senior Electrical System Engineer - DistributionRINA is recruiting for a Senior Electrical System Engineer - Distribution to join its Energy Engineering Project Management Division. Locations: Chicago & Lisle, IL, Columbus, OH, or Houston, TX.OverviewThe Senior Electrical System Engineer is a subject matter expert in Distribution, responsible for managing, leading, and executing a range of grid modernization, engineering, analysis, planning, and design activities for electric utilities. This role includes project leadership of staff engineers or team members and ensuring quality assurance on deliverables.ResponsibilitiesLead electric utility activities including distribution engineering planning, design, and operating tasks; perform power system analysis, load flow studies, and related analyses for deployments of:Distribution Automation (DA)Volt-VAR Optimization (VVO)Distributed Energy Resources (DER)Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)Advance grid modernization initiatives involving DA, VVO, ADMS, SCADA, DER, and BESSManage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and client expectationsSupport business development and client account management: relationships, opportunity identification, proposals, and client visitsOther duties as assignedQualificationsB.S. in Electrical Engineering with power systems concentration from ABET-accredited institution5+ years in power system modeling, analysis, and project managementProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredProficiency with power systems analysis software (e.g., CYME) and Microsoft Office 365Experience with electric utilities or utility consultingAbility to work in a matrixed consulting and utility environmentFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and NESC is desirableExperience with project management methodologies and lifecycleStrong communication and leadership skills to guide staff engineers and collaborate with client teamsCompetenciesADDRESS THE WAYBUILD NETWORKEARN TRUSTMAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONSPIONEER CHANGEPROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENTTHINK FORWARDAbout RINARINA is a multinational company providing services across energy, marine, certification, infrastructure & mobility, industry, and R&D.
