Visit to see how we empower creators to own their own destiny.Why You Should Join and Lead the Personalization Team in AI & Analytics Organization:As an Engineering Manager leading the personalization team within the AI & Analytics organization, you will play a pivotal role in technical discussions related to scaling our systems, implementing new AI personalization features, and fostering team growth.The Personalization team is responsible for Klaviyo’s 1:1 personalization features, including personalized profile traits, smart send times, and channel affinity. This team leverages machine learning models and LLM-based APIs to develop personalized product features that target individual customer profiles for marketers. We also collaborate closely with the Experiments Platform team to build cohesive experiences that help marketers learn about their customers and test those learnings. This product area is a key component of Klaviyo’s AI-first roadmap and central to the company's success, offering significant opportunities for growth due to the role's scope and the team's critical position within Klaviyo’s product this role, you will own the team’s mission, goals, and roadmap, collaborating with other engineering leads and product managers. Together, you will define scope and specifications, guide technical directions, and provide feedback on system designs to ensure deliverables are met and stability is maintained. You will also use TypeScript, React, Python, and Django to build scalable systems that deliver exceptional customer experiences and support Klaviyo’s future growth. This includes applying machine learning models and LLM-based APIs to create scalable and personalized AI systems, utilizing A/B testing to evaluate model performance.How You Will Make a DifferenceLead and manage a team of full-stack and AI engineers.Develop SMART goals and career development plans for direct reports.Actively participate in interviewing, hiring, and team leveling.Collaborate on project planning, define achievements, identify dependencies, and ensure business goals are met.Develop and execute technical strategies aligned with Klaviyo's business goals, ensuring exceptional products and a reliable, user-friendly AI systems roadmap.Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, resolve blockers, manage expectations, and translate customer needs into valuable AI-driven roadmaps and solutions.Advise the team on modeling, system design, experimental design, and implementation decisions.Improve engineering-wide processes such as recruiting, performance development, communication, and agile development.Stay current with emerging AI trends and technologies, identifying and leveraging opportunities within Klaviyo’s ecosystem.Who You AreExperience building AI-driven product features in a full-stack capacity.3-5 years of experience managing one or more engineering teams, including remote members and lead engineers.Exceptional communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders to translate business/product roadmaps into AI-driven technical roadmaps and solutions that add significant customer and business value.Motivated to grow the team through developing current members and attracting new talent to expand capabilities.Eager to engage with code, understand the product area, and provide applicable technical -depth understanding of common engineering architectures for highly scalable systems.Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, multi-quarter projects involving at least two fortable conducting performance reviews and mentoring team members at all levels.You’ve already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you’re excited to dive in and learn fast. You’re hungry to responsibly explore new AI tools and workflows, finding ways to make your work smarter and more efficient.Nice to have:Experience working in B2B businesses and directly interacting with customers.Experience in developing large-scale machine learning modeling solutions and systems that impact the business.We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process.
