All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested, and shipped from Lucix facilities in California, USA.We are seeking an experienced Principal RF Engineer to join our team. The Principal RF Engineer is a technical expert who will lead as a project engineer for RF products including Oscillators, Central Power Supply Units (CPSUs), Frequency Converters, and Amplifiers for our commercial space customers.ResponsibilitiesLead design and development of complex RF products with emphasis on oscillator productsAnalyze customer requirements and constraintsGenerate detailed design proposals for customers and provide expert-level advice on trade-off discussions for design conceptsEstimate total costs, including material, labor, test and development costs as well as lead time for new products to be quotedIndependently complete RF system and circuit designSupport analog control circuitry designs for features including voltage regulation, gain control, automatic level control, and temperature compensationPerform detailed analysis of compliance for electrical, mechanical, environmental and regulatory requirements (compliance matrix) for all new products being quotedDetermine methods and procedures on new assignmentsTune, Test, and Report on prototypes / engineering modelsSupport Operations by creating test data sheets, supporting Integration and TestProvide clear, consistent technical judgmentInvent new technologiesMentor junior engineers in areas of RF design and analysisQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experienceMinimum 8 years experience in the RF/Microwave industryDemonstrated RF/MW oscillator design knowledge and competence working in several oscillator topologies with emphasis on ultra-low phase noiseCommand of RF principles and theories (RF signal cascade, impedance matching, amplifier topologies, multipaction, NF, stability, distortion, etc.)Extensive experience with the simulation, design, test, and realization of RF componentsExpertise in commercial RF / Microwave 2.5D, 3D simulation software (HFSS, ADS, or Microwave Office/AWR preferred)Expert understanding of RF board-level design (component selection/placement, shielding, microstrip, lumped element matching, distributed matching, etc.)Experience with RF laboratory equipment and RF test methodsExperience in all phases of RF product development from proposal phase through productionExperience leading multiple projects in different phases of completionExperience reviewing and creating design documentation (schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, test procedures, etc.)Familiar with schematic capture (OrCAD preferred)Experience reviewing work of junior engineers and providing technical guidance (technical mentoring)Strong oral and written communication skillsAble to evaluate Lucix processes and industry best practices to identify areas for improvementExperience with InP VCO design preferredMicrowave circuit design experience through Ka-band frequencies preferredJob DetailsPay Range: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 / yearPay Transparency: In order to support the Fair Compensation Strategy by the US Govt., HR Dept., clients are required to adhere to "Pay Transparency Law"; in the impacted states; that have mandated the employers to list the salary ranges in Job advertisements or postings for job opportunities and Job promotions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
