Their food and wellness program emphasizes scratch-made meals, nutrition education, and advocacy for healthy eating and food access.Job DescriptionThe Catering Manager will oversee daily kitchen operations, staff supervision, scheduling, compliance with food safety and nutrition standards, and record-keeping. This role focuses on managing people and processes rather than hands-on cooking. Bilingual Spanish skills are essential, as much of the team and community is Spanish-speaking.ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day food service operations and supervise a team of 10+ kitchen staff.Manage scheduling, payroll, and time-off requests to ensure coverage and compliance.Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health standards in alignment with local and federal regulations.Support compliance with allergen accommodations, substitutions, and nutritional guidelines.Track and report production records, expenses, and departmental performance metrics.Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to ensure seamless catering services.Assist in vendor management and purchasing guidelines to meet organizational needs.Provide leadership, training, and development to kitchen staff.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Services, or related field (preferred).3–5 years of experience in food service, catering, or nutrition programs, with staff management responsibility.Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance.Conversational Spanish required; fluency strongly preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with financial or payroll systems a plus.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.ServSafe certification highly preferred.Additional DetailsThis position may occasionally require travel between Washington, DC and nearby Maryland locations.Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.PerksMission-driven work environment supporting children and families.Collaborative, bilingual team culture.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
