About the JobDramaBox is seeking a Human Resources Compliance Manager to join our U.S. HR team at a pivotal stage of growth. Reporting to the HR Director, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our policies and practices align with federal and California requirements, managing compliance reporting, and building fair, consistent processes as we scale. Already a top app internationally, DramaBox is rapidly expanding in the U.S. to become a dominant force in mobile-first entertainment.Key Responsibilities Ensure HR practices and policies comply with U.S. federal, state, and local labor laws (wage & hour, leave, EEO, etc.). Support HR compliance reporting (EEO-1, pay equity, wage statements, required postings). Monitor changes in employment law and recommend updates to policies and practices. Take ownership of personnel file record-keeping in line with federal and California law, ensuring all required documents (offer letters, policy acknowledgments, payroll/benefits forms, performance evaluations, training records, retention timelines, and confidential files such as I-9s and medical/leave files) are organized, up-to-date, and ready for inspection in case of litigation or audit. Maintain accurate HR records and audit files for compliance readiness. Draft, update, and implement HR policies and compliance documentation (anti-harassment, leave, discipline, etc.). Assist with compliance training (harassment prevention, workplace conduct). Provide compliance guidance to managers — especially in production, post-production, and creative teams. Conduct fact-finding for employee relations cases (harassment, disputes, conflicts) and prepare documentation for HR Director review.Qualifications 4–6 years of HR experience with a focus on compliance and policy. California labor and employment law expertise required. Strong experience with compliance reporting and HR documentation. Some exposure to employee relations or investigations (comfortable gathering facts and documenting cases). Detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance compliance rigor with flexibility. Excellent writing and communication skills. Experience in entertainment, production, or creative industries is a plus. Scaling environment experience preferred.
