A unique leadership position for a dynamic, collaborative law firm with a strong reputation in civil litigation is seeking an experienced attorney to join its practice. The attorney will work in a leadership role and have a heavy hand in firm wide decision making. This position will report directly to the named partner who has extensive experience in civil litigation and appeals covering all aspects of business and construction disputes.The ideal candidate will have experience working a case from start to resolution, have strong litigation skills including appearances, depositions, trial experience, writing, drafting and answering discovery, negotiation, and advising corporations and individuals.Key Responsibilities Represent Plaintiffs and Defendants with in various constructions disputes that may include contractors, subcontractors, owners, and sureties. Be capable, and skilled at seeking relief at the courthouse, from the first filing, through trial, and on appeal. Act as General Counsel for various small and midsize businesses including, but are not limited to, reviewing and negotiating contracts, answering HR questions and assisting with employee performance issues. Prosecute and defend business and construction disputes in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations. Provide support to the appellate docket that ranges from interlocutory appeals, appeals from final judgments, administrative appeals to the District Court, and filing petitions for writ of mandamus when traditional appeals are unavailable. Collaborate with colleagues and Managing Partner to deliver integrated legal solutions. Work both autonomously and collaboratively when needed.
