QA/Automation Engineer (Remote Opportunity)Mind Computing is seeking a QA/Automation Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our client is modernizing a critical business application. Activities include application migration, application sustainment, refactoring, all performed according to agile principles. You will work in a fast-paced SAFe Agile environment and participate in the full system lifecycle—analysis, planning, development, implementation, testing, documentation, and operations. Responsibilities Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies. Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web, API, and backend services. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable releases. Write and execute system test cases, track results, and provide detailed progress reports using JIRA for test management, defect tracking, and sprint planning. Analyze defects, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution. Configure hardware, operating systems, and environments to support automated testing. Contribute to risk assessments and provide subject-matter expertise on testing best practices. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of software testing experience with at least 2 years in test automation. Proficiency in automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG). Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git). Hands-on experience using JIRA for defect tracking, test case management, and Agile workflow. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or SAFe methodologies. Additional Qualifications Ability to obtain a government clearance. Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.
