Shuttle Truck Driver

As a Shuttle Truck Driver at Steel Technologies, you'll be trained to safely operate a tractor trailer truck, overhead crane and/or forklift to transport material and freight between buildings within one location. It's imperative that you are diligent, and safety focused in this role because you will play a big part in keeping production running efficiently as well as making sure our customer orders are loaded and shipped on time. The regular hours for this position are Monday to Friday 3:00pm to 11:00pm (when overtime is required the hours change to: 3:00pm to 1:00am) This position will require training on 1st shift, for at least 1-2 months DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform required daily vehicle inspection and documentation 2. Communicate with material handlers to determine the steel needed for all machines 3. Locate material for each building based on production information 4. Retrieve material from storage; move material to Shuttle Truck by operating an overhead crane or forklift 5. Properly secure material for transportation and ensure freight is weather protected (if necessary) 6. Inspect securement devices (chains, straps, tie-downs) for defects 7. Safely and efficiently transfers product 8. Maintain up-to-date crane and forklift training 9.
