The Facilities Services Technician II makes an impact by - General Building and Facility Maintenance * Familiar with and perform general plumbing repairs throughout the campus. * Familiar with and perform general HVAC repairs throughout the campus. * Familiar with and perform general repair/replace lighting throughout the campus. * Familiar with and perform winter weather abatement to include snow and ice removal. * Familiar with basic electrical principles and 70E safety. * Perform general housekeeping and grounds keeping as assigned. * Perform all duties of the recycling component that is assigned to the Facilities Services Department. Inspections and Preventative Maintenance * Perform all preventative maintenance inspections to areas or equipment including but not limited to building roofs, facility racking, facilities maintenance equipment, dock equipment, and any component that makes up the campus. * Perform all preventative maintenance routine tasks as assigned, such as equipment lubrication, routine part replacement, process component replacement, cleaning, painting, and general repair activities. * Perform as required by the description on the CMMS work order, all assigned work orders relating to GMP, safety or summary audit requests. Metal Fabrication and Shop Work * Proficient at set up and operation of machine tools and shop equipment. * Fabricate all parts for systems and equipment for repair or building. * Proficient at copper soldering welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, etc. * Proficient at grinding, cutting, general methods of metal fabrication. * Familiar with methods of surface preparation to include standard methods of polishing for metals used in food contact surfaces. Construction and Installation * Demonstrate a general working knowledge of accepted construction methods, including but not limited to carpentry, concrete, excavation, basic electric (70 E Qualified). * Operate heavy equipment such as Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT certified), front end loaders, backhoes, jackhammers, and other large industrial equipment. * General knowledge of basic accepted rigging and millwright methods including installation, disassembly, and mobilization of large objects or equipment. Planning, Communication, and Project Coordination * Demonstrates the ability to plan work, enters requisitions, work orders and completes all necessary functions within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to effectively complete assigned work tasks. * Proficient at communicating both written and verbally to customer groups and work teams project summaries, work status updates, and task completion and all other pertinent information. * Demonstrates the ability to coordinate projects of varying scope and scale including coordination of contractors and outside agencies as well as self and other associates. General * Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems. * Accountable to the Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles. * Perform all other Duties as assigned. You could be a great fit if you have these things - * High school diploma or equivalent * Must be at least 18 years of age * Certification/diploma from a certified trade school or previous trades work experience * 3-5 years of related facilities maintenance experience * Must work in a team environment * Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, ending, lunch and break schedules * Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines * Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles * Perform all other duties as assigned Physical Demands- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. * The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required). * The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area. * The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours. * The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks. * Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks. * The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment. * Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required. * Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus. * Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
