Kinzie Chophouse, a distinguished steakhouse since 1991, is searching for a skilled sous chef to join our expanding team. If you have a passion for culinary excellence and leadership, we want to hear from you. Expectations: You will work with our executive chef and lead the culinary team by example to create the atmosphere and culture we want to present to our guests. You must be reliable, organized, and ready to help us reach our goals! Key Responsibilities include: Overseeing daily kitchen operations, food production and hold vendors accountable for all product received, alerting purchasing team of any and all vendor issues Lead and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation with a Mediterranean twist. Ensure the kitchen remains clean and organized, adhering to health and safety standards. Collaborate with vendors to source premium ingredients and manage inventory. Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and timely meal preparation. Complete general administrative tasks including opening and closing duties, maintaining restaurant facilities, kitchen supplies, and BOH uniform inventory, and keeping the Recipe Index up to date. Requirements: Experience Required : Extensive experience in a similar role. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Desired Traits: Passion for Steakhouse and Mediterranean cuisine and a creative approach to menu development. Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Certifications Needed: ServSafe Manager Certification.
