This large physician medical group in Phoenix, AZ is actively seeking an experienced, board certified gastroenterologist and physician leader to serve as the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director. The Fellowship is a three-year, six-fellow program, with initial accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This team practices in a 571-bed academic, Level 1 trauma, medical center and attached clinics with support from Hepatology, Liver transplant, Advanced Endoscopy Services, General Surgery, all Surgical Subspecialties, Pathology, and Radiology. Be part of an expanding team of existing Gastroenterologists with APP support within the clinic setting. RESPONSIBILITIES75% Clinical / 25% AcademicMaintain ongoing certification and compliance with ACGME requirementsBe a role model of professionalismEnsure the program's compliance with institutional policies and procedures and ACGME requirementsOversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education, develop and review program curricula, and monitor fellow supervision at all participating sites.Work with other departments and other clinical sites to develop and maintain appropriate clinical and educational rotations for the fellows and residentsRegularly assess and promote fellow well-being while fostering an environment in which diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the forefront of fellows' clinical and academic experiencesDevelop opportunities for bidirectional communication with fellows and facultyOversee and facilitate faculty and fellow evaluations and performance management with feedbackFellow Recruitment and SelectionGME Research / Scholarly ActivityProgram Evaluation WHAT WE OFFERFull-time employed physician leadership positionAcademic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experienceDHMG is a physician-led, clinically integrated, academic medical groupCompetitive salary, benefits & a matched 403B retirement package inclusive of an employer funded pension planSign-on bonus and relocationCME benefits MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMD or DO degree and current certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, or subspecialty qualifications that are acceptable to the Review CommitteeCurrent medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointmentSpecialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency or gastroenterology fellowshipOngoing clinical activity and ongoing academic achievements in gastroenterology, including publications, the development of educational programs, or the conduct of researchMust have or be eligible for State of Arizona medical licensureStrong interpersonal communication skillsAbility to travel as needed between clinical training sites For more information, please contactby Jobble
