Lab Technician

Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description Join our team as a Lab Technician where you will perform chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard testing methods prescribed by ASTM. This role involves analyzing new samples, preparing solutions or solvents for various tests, and maintaining workbooks and equipment as per standard operating procedures. You will work in an industrial lab setting focused on automotive product research. Responsibilities * Perform chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants. * Analyze new samples introduced in the lab. * Prepare solutions or solvents for various tests. * Transfer samples within the lab. * Maintain workbooks and equipment daily, weekly, and monthly as per SOP and test procedures. * Work with a fuel/oil smell present in the lab environment. Essential Skills * Experience in a lab environment. * Proficiency in sample preparation. * Knowledge of MS Office Suite. * Ability to perform math calculations. * Experience washing and handling glassware. * Familiarity with basic lab safety. * Ability to lift and transport 50 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications * High School diploma. * One year of college chemistry and math or one year of related laboratory experience. * Recent associate degree in science or recent lab experience through school is preferred. Work Environment The position is in an industrial lab setting focused on automotive products with shifts from 6 am to 3 pm, 8 am to 4 pm, and 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work. PPE is provided. The lab has a fuel/oil smell, and training is hands-on with shadowing. This role does not require medical certifications and disqualifies candidates with a BS degree. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50/hr.
