Duties/Responsibilities: Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans. Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures. Creates and maintains a safe and orderly environment. Upholds board policies and follows administrative procedures. Consults with building administrators to resolve questions or concerns. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Creative analytical and problem-solving skills. Education, Experience and Certification: Bachelor's degree required. Valid Substitute License from the Illinois State Board of Education. Previous teaching experience with elementary school-aged children preferred.
