Responsible forall aspects of professional service and guest satisfaction. Oversees proper set up and break downof banquet room.Essential functions:Must be willing and able to:• Comprehend and follow specific banquet instructions including check lists, contracts, room diagrams, and inventory sheets• Coordinate and check all opening set up• Determine the order of service (who does what, and when it is done)• Greet the host/hostess and all guests• Accommodate any special needs or requests by the host• Accurately time each course• Master all server functions• Perform bartender functions• Inventory liquor before and after a banquet• Prepare ingredients needed for recipes of mixed beverages• Prepare mixed beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content• Supervise banquet staff• Communicate clearly with the kitchen• Communicate cordially, clearly and effectively with co-workers• Complete all side work when and as assigned• Present and answer questions regarding promotional information and materials• Accurately record and account for all items ordered and served• Accurately accept payment from guest• Refrain from smoking for the duration of a shift• Secure manager's approval regarding any comped or voided item• Notify guest of any automatic gratuity• Perform more than one task at a time• Perform calmly and effectively under pressure• Communicate with guest clearly, patiently, courteously and with good humor• Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of service according to standing operating procedure• Supervise and check all break down and closing duties• Ensure that all left over food is properly stored according to standing operating procedure• Accurately account for and balance all sales and receipts• Complete a financial check out according to standing operating procedureRequirementsMust have a Leadership position in their work history for a minimum of 3 years and a proven capability to lead a team of up to 25-30 banquet Servers. Aftertraining, must be able to pass an exam in English with 90% or better in each of the following:• Menu and specials• Wine list• Liquor list and special drinks• Liquor Liability laws and knowledge• Accounting procedures• Layout of restaurant and/or banquet rooms including table numbers• Individual restaurant orientation material including rules and philosophiesequal opportunity employer
