Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician - Lead Job Description Prepare, process, maintain, and distribute surgical instrumentation and equipment to medical personnel in designated areas of the hospital. This role involves ensuring that all surgical tools and equipment are sterilized and ready for use, contributing significantly to the smooth operation of the surgical team. Responsibilities * Perform soiled collection of reusable contaminated surgical instrumentation, clinical patient care equipment, and other items. * Decontaminate contaminated patient care equipment and surgical instrumentation. * Prepare, package, and perform terminal sterilization of surgical instrumentation and special procedure trays. * Operate and monitor all reprocessing and sterilization equipment. * Perform quality assurance performance monitoring of the in-house sterilization process. * Train and develop staff within the Sterile Processing Department. Essential Skills * Proficiency in sterile processing, decontamination, and sterilization. * Certified Surgical Technician (CST), Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD), or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IASHCSMM) certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Minimum of 1 year of experience in training, developing, or other leadership roles within Sterile Processing. * Certification in Sterile Processing is required (CBSPD, IASHCSMM, Accredited Sterile Processing Program, or CST). Work Environment Work the 2nd shift from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, with a rotation for on-call over the weekends. Initial training lasts 4-6 weeks and will occur during the day shift. The position is based at Pleasant Prairie Hospital, offering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.50/hr.
