Hiring a Lab Technician for a great food manufacturing lab in Lathrop, CA! Great team culture and environment Schedule: 12-hour alternative shifts, open to all shifts, flexibility needed. Job Description This position is responsible for executing and coordinating various lab testing and inspection routines. The role ensures that food safety and quality specifications are met for ingredients and finished products by adhering to specified procedures. Responsibilities * Execute microbiological testing procedures to verify the commercial sterility of finished products. * Conduct Environmental Monitoring Program. * Coordinate storage, organization, and shipment of finished product samples. * Perform Water Testing Program. * Execute Sensory Program for finished products. * Create Certificates of Analysis (COA) and manage communication for product release. * Manage verification, calibration, and maintenance programs for laboratory equipment and instruments. * Develop and validate testing methods for raw and finished products. * Coordinate external lab testing programs. * Support and execute the positive release process for finished products. * Contribute to root cause analysis and customer complaint investigations. * Support laboratory operations through cleaning, organizing, and filing laboratory records. * Ensure all records and documents are complete, legible, and accurate. * Maintain and improve FSQ documentation practices. * Maintain organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping of FSQ Lab area. * Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives. * Order and manage inventory control for supplies and reagents. * Ensure compliance with quality policy and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements. * Adhere to corporate and plant safety standards and regulatory requirements. Essential Skills * Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to document, describe, and interpret records and specifications. * Ability to enforce company procedures and policies. * Ability to document inspection findings accurately and legibly. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology. * At least 1 year of experience in laboratory functions within the food, beverage, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry. Work Environment The work environment is a food production setting where steel toe boots are required, and jewelry is not permitted. The role involves exposure to wet and varying temperature conditions ranging from 60 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, vibration, moving machinery, risk of electrical shock, airborne particles, high places, toxic chemicals, allergens including soy and milk, and fumes from food processing equipment.
