Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of ledgers, financial reporting, and budgeting of assigned departments/locations. Serves as a resource and guide to colleagues and assigned departments/locations.$71,000 to $75,000 annually2445 Prior Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113Essential Functions (approximate time spent)Maintain accurate ledgers, financial reporting, and budgeting of assigned departments/locations (30%).Prepare timely financial statements and assist with budgeting (30%).Counsel and report to stakeholders with respect to financial matters (20%). Act as a resource regarding complex financial transactions and reporting/tracking of funding (10%).Assist with preparation for audits and consolidation of financial statements (5%).Assist with the development of internal accounting procedures and training of finance staff (5%). Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting. In lieu of degree, relevant experience may be considered. Four years of accounting experience required, preference given to non-profit accounting. Valid driver's license and meet MVR driver's qualifications highly preferred; and pass background checks.CompetenciesWilling to support the philosophy, goals, and mission of The Salvation Army.Significant knowledge in accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Working ConditionsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds at a time.Competency with PC, Microsoft Office, Adobe, General Ledgers, and standard office equipment required.Must be able to communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone for reasonable periods.Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
