Billing Specialist

Job Title: Billing Specialist - Legal/Billing Software (Aderant preferred)Location: Detroit, MI (Onsite)Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experienceSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Overtime as needed)Our client is a leading professional services organization specializing in legal and business advisory services. If you have billing experience, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment.What you get to do: Prepare, review, and finalize monthly billing cycles, including pre-bills and final invoices. Monitor and resolve unbilled matters to keep workflows on track. Submit and troubleshoot electronic billing using LEDES formats and various e-billing platforms. Communicate with attorneys, legal assistants, and staff to ensure billing accuracy and timely submission. Generate reports for billing and collections to assist attorneys and management. Assist with month-end closing processes and additional administrative tasks.What you need to succeed: 3-5 years of experience in an accounting, billing, or administrative role (legal industry experience preferred). Experience with Aderant or other automated billing systems is a plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Analytical skills to troubleshoot billing issues and ensure accuracy.
