You will lead VPP Star-certified initiatives, building a proactive, behavior-driven safety culture.What You'll OwnChampion a proactive safety culture, fostering employee-led initiatives and peer engagement. Lead OSHA VPP Star certification efforts, maintaining best-in-class safety performance. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and regulatory bodies-conducting audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions. Partner with union leaders & frontline teams to reinforce shared safety accountability. Develop & mentor safety teams, driving operational learning and continuous improvement. Oversee incident investigations, ensuring data-driven root cause analysis and risk mitigation strategies.Deliver training programs, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and machine guarding.Monitor & analyze safety metrics, using leading indicators to steer strategic improvements.Who We're Looking For:- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.- 7+ years in safety leadership within heavy industrial or manufacturing settings. - Proven success in unionized environments, fostering alignment and collaboration. - Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), and VPP requirements. - Experience leading audits, compliance programs, and regulatory interactions. - Strong communication & coaching skills, inspiring leadership at all levels. - CSP, CIH, or CHMM certifications preferred.Why Join Us?Impact: Shape and drive a best-in-class safety culture for a leading manufacturer.
