Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position offers an opportunity to manage vital accounting processes while contributing to the financial health and transparency of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proven ability to work efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities: - Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. - Prepare detailed financial reports for review by the board of directors. - Reconcile accounts on a regular basis to maintain financial accuracy. - Manage and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data. - Process journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards. - Handle corporate tax returns and sales tax filings with precision and adherence to regulations. - Utilize QuickBooks to maintain organized and up-to-date financial records. - Support the organization during capital campaigns by providing comprehensive financial insights and reporting. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. - Strong knowledge of sales tax and corporate tax return processes. - Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. - Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries with attention to detail. - Familiarity with financial reporting and board-level communication. - Solid understanding of reconciliation processes and accounting principles. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. - Excellent organizational and time management skills.
