Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate patient records. Responsibilities + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients. + Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles. + Understand and execute all physicians' orders accurately. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. + Ensure requisition forms or computer labels match scripts for accuracy. + Package specimens for transport following protocol to maintain specimen integrity. + Store specimen samples at required temperatures and label them accurately. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department training sessions. + Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries. Essential Skills + Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience. + High volume blood draw experience. + Proficiency with straight needle techniques. + Experience with centrifuges. Additional Skills & Qualifications + GED or High School Diploma. + Experience in a high volume patient service center or oncology center. Job Type & Location This is a position based out of Jersey City, New Jersey. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
