OverviewGlobal Indirect Tax Automation Experienced Manager (Tax Technology)As the Tax Digital Consulting Manager, you’ll implement and build third party tax systems with major third-party ERP and billing platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Great Plains), as well as custom billing systems for clients, across a wide variety of industries. You’ll collaborate with team members, practice leadership, and our diverse client base, and will play a key role in gathering requirements, design, build, and testing implementations of third-party software products and our own custom solutions to meet client needs.From day one, you’ll be empowered to participate in requirements gathering, design, build, and testing of implementations to meet client needs and help you achieve more, confidently.ResponsibilitiesServe as the Project Manager on assigned third-party tax software implementations (Vertex, Avalara, Sovos, Thomson Reuters, ADP, Billsoft) and on custom software development projectsManage assigned system integration projects involving major ERP and billing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards)Requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementationsManage programming for custom system interfaces and modification of preexisting interfacesManage testing and support of assigned system go-live projectsDevelop and deliver key project documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and test plansHelp develop and lead staff to enable them to perform core project activitiesParticipate in sales meetings and proposal development meetingsNetwork and develop key relationships within Grant Thornton and externallyOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in a related technical fieldMust have one of the following credentials: Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent certificationMaster’s degree in accounting, Tax Business Administration, Finance or Information Systems TaxCertified Member of the Institute for Professionals in TaxationEquivalent accounting certification or law license in home country (e.g., Chartered Accountant)Five years of experience with SAP/Oracle functional and/or technical experienceTwo years of Oracle EBS/ERP Cloud/SAP ABAP Design and Development experienceDeep technical understanding of SAP or Oracle, including customization paths, table structures, and core Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay streamsSAP Namespace development is a plusExperience writing documentation for ERP implementationsExperience managing and developing team members for these types of implementationsExperience in public accounting is a plusStrong computer skills requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to travel as neededCompensationThe base salary ranges by location:Chicago, IL: $136,000 – $204,000Los Angeles, CA; Bellevue, WA; New York, NY: $146,000 – $220,300San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA: $156,400 – $234,600Hybrid work model with in-person attendance at least two days per week.About UsAt Grant Thornton, we believe in making business more personal and building trust into every result.
