The Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of the Building Principal and teachers assigned by the Principal. JOB GOALS: The Paraprofessional will function primarily within three (3) areas of responsibility, performing such which facilitate and improve the system's delivery of total service to the students. EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month calendar year SALARY: Based on the bargaining unit contract for non-certified personnel QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of accredited Paraprofessional program MAIN DUTIES: Direct services to students Participate in small student group discussion and individual student discussion Take student dictation Assist students with vocabulary building activities Type student-generated material Assist students, at the teacher's direction, in small group and individual activities in interest/activity centers Supervise students during non-instructional time Supervise independent tutorial and small group study under the direction of the teacher Assist classroom teachers in the presentation of lessons with the classroom Produce instructional material for use in the classroom (bulletin boards, charts, experiment set-ups, etc.) Assist teachers in emergency situations Assist teachers in grading papers and contacting parents Assist teachers in the performance of clerical duties and non-instructional classroom duties Facilitate the process of student record and attendance reports Process and distribute instructional materials Assist with testing of students Perform other duties related to support of instructional program EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy of Support Services Personnel
