Quality ManagerAkron OH$80k to $130k based on experiencePrideStaff is conducting a search for a Quality Manager for their Akron area light manufacturing client. Our client is seeking a hands-on, proactive Quality Manager to oversee their quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal Quality Manager candidate will have extensive experience in quality management systems, particularly within the manufacturing sector. This role is crucial for maintaining high-quality standards, conducting quality audits, and ensuring adherence to FDA regulations and ISO standards. To be successful in this role, the Quality Manager must be a hands-on leader who is actively engaged on the production floor.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct hands-on product inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other tools to ensure conformance to specificationsAudit and improve existing quality testing performed by operators; verify documentation accuracy and complianceReview and interpret SPC charts, identifying trends and supporting corrective actionsOwn and lead the response to customer complaints, root cause investigations, and internal corrective actionsAuthorize the release of finished goods based on inspection outcomes and documentationEstablish and maintain calibration schedules for measurement equipment, coordinating with outside services as neededServe as the go-to quality expert for operators and engineers, providing guidance and feedback on product acceptabilityChampion ISO standards; lead audit preparation and ensure ongoing complianceDesign and build quality systems, SOPs, documentation workflows, and team structure as we scaleIdentify, train, and lead future quality technicians as the department growsSupport continuous improvement efforts and collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and engineering teamsPerform all other duties as needed to build and maintain a high-performing quality functionQualifications2+ years of experience in quality assurance, ideally in a manufacturing or production environmentHigh school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferredHands-on experience with measurement tools: micrometers, calipers, video measuring systems, etc.Familiarity with ISO 9001 standardsComfortable reading blueprints and technical specificationsUnderstanding of SPC control charting and trend analysisStrong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organizationExperience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Bi-lingual in Spanish strongly preferredSelf-starter attitude with a desire to build something from the ground upJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
